A new business management system is launched at Vilniaus Duona

In October, Vilniaus Duona, together with its colleagues in Latvia, launched a new business management system that has been implemented for almost a year. This is already the fourth country in the Lantmännen Unibake Group to implement this interconnection system.

This time, as many as four locations in two countries, Lithuania and Latvia, started at the same time. Previously, this so-called BP3 or D365 FO installation project had already been implemented in Germany and Estonia.

"Almost a year. That's how much time we spent preparing for the launch of the new business management system in Lithuania and Latvia. And countless hours of my fantastic colleagues invested digging through data, analyzing and reviewing processes, adapting everything from accounting to production management to a new reality. I am proud and thank you," said Artūras Kokoškinas, the head of Vilniaus Duona, thanking his colleagues at the start of the project.

Largest project

The company has invested EUR 3.2 million in this project. euros. The new system combines more than 300 different business processes – from financial analysis, logistics and production to management and accounting. The main goal is full integration into the group's platform and the implementation of international best practices.

"This is a grandiose project, unmatched in scope by any other project we have carried out. Key processes – from planning, production to sales – are combined into a common system, coordinated at the level of the entire group," says A. Kokoškinas.

More efficient processes and less residues

The new system will allow for more accurate forecasting of production needs, more efficient supply planning and reduction of bread residues. This will help to serve customers even better and strengthen the company's competitiveness.

"Almost 40 percent of the baked goods on the Lithuanian table are the work of our bakeries in Vilnius and Panevėžys. It is both an achievement and a great responsibility. By using the new system, we will work more purposefully, more efficiently and continue to be at the forefront of change," says A. Kokoškinas.
