On 23 October, staff colleagues visited the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Vilnius University of Applied Sciences . During the visit, we discussed the possibilities of cooperation between Vilnius Bread and Vilnius University of Applied Sciences in preparing students and doing internships and getting a job in our company.

Vilnius alumni colleague Aurimas Jurevičius , who has done his internship with us twice, is currently working as a junior product development technologist. Laura Četvergaitė also works with products after the internship as a sales support specialist. Olga Grebniovienė, our production shift manager, continued her studies in food production technology there.

Preparing food technologists who are in demand in the market

"Vilnius University of Applied Sciences, among other professions, also trains food technologists, representatives of a profession that is important to us as a bakery, including specialized bread baking technologists. We are grateful for the specialists we are preparing for the market. The college has excellent laboratories where students carry out tests and research, as well as new baking equipment where students practice cooking and baking bread," said Jurga Staniukėnienė, organizational development specialist at Vilniaus Duona, who participated in the meeting.

According to Jūratė Kudabaitė-Staškevičienė, HR Manager of Vilniaus Duona, during the meeting, the representatives of the college emphasized that they were looking forward to practical presentations to students from Vilniaus Duona, which would be led by our food technologists and quality specialists-practitioners.

"Not only students, but also lecturers would love to visit the company's bakeries – what industrial production looks like, what are the job prospects for the future at Vilniaus Duona. We will look for such an opportunity," said Jūratė.
