Lantmännen completes acquisition of Leipurin – strengthening the supply chain of food raw materials
The Lantmännen Group, which also owns Vilniaus Duona, has completed the acquisition of Leipurin Oyj. The latter company, which operates in Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, is one of the leading suppliers of food ingredients, raw materials and frozen products.
The annual turnover of the Leipurin Group is about EUR 150 million. The company employs about 160 people. In Lithuania, the company's division is registered in Kaunas.
"With the acquisition of Leipurin, Lantmännen aims to expand and strengthen the supply chain of food raw materials. Together with existing businesses and a new investment in pea protein production, this transaction provides solid growth opportunities in both existing and new markets," said Magnus Kagevik, CEO and Group President of Lantmännen.
Leipurin has a strong expertise in product development, so the acquisition opens up opportunities for innovation, development and growth together with customers and partners.
Leipurin and its affiliated companies in Lithuania are engaged in wholesale trade of food raw materials and ingredients for bakeries and food production companies.
