Vilniaus Duona will cooperate with Vilnius Ethnic Culture Centre
Vilniaus Duona will cooperate with the Vilnius Ethnic Culture Centre in fostering Lithuanian culture and identity.
"The Vilnius Ethnic Culture Centre encourages interest in Lithuanian traditions and customs. It is also very important for us as bakers of the basic Lithuanian dish, bread, to cherish our roots, so we are happy with this partnership," said Jolita Ažusienė, Head of Communication at Vilniaus Duona.
The head of the center that fosters national identity mentioned that the importance of bread for Lithuanians was not limited to food.
"Bread for Lithuanians was not just food. She was accompanied by a sacred attitude that conveyed many values that were not subject to time: harmony in the family, diligence, respect, unity, a sense of security, and the ability to share. It is not for nothing that baking bread was considered a special ritual. It's nice that bread has brought us together to cooperate," said Sandra Daugirdienė, head of the Vilnius Ethnic Culture Centre.
We marked our friendship by pouring candles
On Thursday evening, we celebrated this friendship with a cozy meeting.
At the Vilnius Ethnic Culture Centre, the team and their families participated in an educational activity. During it, they got acquainted with the craft of candle making and made a fragrant candle made of natural beeswax.
Every month we will give an ethno-year
One of the first initiatives of close cooperation is the monthly free ceramics classes for schoolchildren "ETNORYTMETIS".
During the activities donated by Vilniaus Duona, one lucky group of primary and pre-school students from Vilnius city educational institutions will listen to fairy tales, unravel the lessons hidden in them, and transfer the impressions they have experienced to clay work. The participants of the activity will be rewarded with delicious "Vilniaus Duona" boxes.
