We participated in an innovative food tasting
Colleagues of "Vilniaus Duona" participated in the tasting of innovative food. It was organised by the Innovation Agency together with the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
A few thoughts shared by Snieguolė Šoblinskienė, Tadas Gaškauskas and Jolita Dūdėnaitė after the event:
– Interest in plant-based analogues of meat and dairy products is growing
– Growing attention to fermented alternative protein products is predicted next year
– In ten years, consumers will also choose cultured meat products – the share of plant-based meat and dairy analogues will double.
During the tasting, we tasted dishes made from new generation alternative protein products created by Lithuanian startups and from sustainable food created by recycling industrial food waste into new, healthy products using an advanced mushroom fermentation method.
There was also a discussion where the creators of innovative food – Tomas Byčkovas from Biohifas and Monika Černiauskaitė from BrewBites – talked about the peculiarities of future products. Meanwhile, Minister of the Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė shared her thoughts on why we need to pay more and more attention to innovative food and its impact on sustainability.
