Colleagues of Vilniaus Duona delved into LinkedIn during the training
How to tame a professional social network LinkedIn and benefit from it was explored by colleagues of Vilniaus Duona in the LinkedIn workshop, which was led by communication expert Gitana Baliutavičienė.
Our colleagues from a wide variety of fields registered for the workshop: accounting, risk management, product development, HR, marketing.
What are the most common reasons for avoiding more active use of LinkedIn, which has more than 600 thousand users? Lithuanian consumers?
"Lack of knowledge. Lack of skills. It is not clear what the benefits are. Anxiety, as colleagues, friends, acquaintances will evaluate. And, of course, fear. After all, social networks are the same public speaking. The potential audience is more than half a million people. And public speaking is scary for 75% of humanity. This fear is very close to the fear of death and even has its own name, glossophobia," said communication expert Gitana Baliutavičienė, who has been delving into the LinkedIn network for more than seven years.
We had fun kneading all these barriers, internal and external, in the LinkedIn workshop. And to make sure that languages don't just remain languages (that's why the workshops) – we immediately tried a lot of things in practice. How to string a profile. How the assessment of competence differs depending on the photo. How to come up with something to write about. As we can see in the search now. How to expand the circle of contacts.
Two hours passed very quickly, a lot was learned and tested, but there was even more left. In addition, it was not possible for everyone who wanted to participate in the first ones. So we will repeat the workshop in November.
