Meet our Vilnius bakery manager Dalia Zdanovičienė, who has accumulated invaluable, gold-worthy work experience for 35 years working at Vilnius Bread.
Vilnius Bread is Dalia's first and only workplace. Her career at the company began as a production technologist, and later she moved into the logistics department and worked as a dispatcher, warehouse manager, and expedition shift manager for most of her career. "I didn't even like production very much, I was skilled at working in a logistics warehouse, but when the Vilnius bakery expanded with modern production equipment, I decided to move to the position of a bakery's production coordinator and even enrolled in advanced studies in food technology so that I could further pursue a career in the field of production," Dalia opened. Finally, Dalia was offered the position of a bakery manager, where an extremely dynamic job awaited her after leaving the comfort zone with the daily challenges of management and production organization. With the management of the entire bakery, she went through a good school on how to become a leader for her team, how to manage processes, and even how to solve technical failures of production equipment on her own. All this was helped by the inspiring leadership of the managers, which is a very strong motivator for Dalia to try to do more and improve every day in order to achieve results.
During her long work experience, Dalia has experienced many changes in the organization, from working methods to cultural changes. "It's hard to even believe how we used to organize work and what kind of communication culture there was at work in Soviet times," Dalia shares her memories.
"My own attitude has changed a lot as the whole organization has changed. Through all the changes in the organization, I myself have grown a lot, improved and changed as an employee and as a manager. Today's Vilnius Bread is a company with modern production equipment and advances in technology, where occupational safety and health is the highest priority. I am happy with the accumulated vast production experience, I feel at home in the bakery, where it is good to work with each employee. Here, we all work together to create an open culture where trust, transparency and cooperation are valued.
Looking ahead to the upcoming new year, I want to wish myself and my team patience to complete unfinished work, creative impulse to start anew, strength, dreams, new thoughts and ideas, optimism and warmth – warmth in communication, warmth in home and work, warmth in hearts."
