28 April – World Day for Safety and Health at Work. On this occasion, we would like to rejoice that we have not recorded any accidents in Panevėžys bakery for 338 days, and in Vilnius bakery for 180 days!

The main rule that we encourage every employee of Vilnius Bread to follow is to think, feel and act SAFELY. After all, accidents usually occur due to haste, inattention and lack of caution in the workplace.

We take the health and safety of our employees responsibly, so we want to raise awareness among all employees and encourage them to take care of their health, safety and well-being at work. In order to create a safer working environment, we constantly educate employees about the importance of respecting the rules, monitor and evaluate the working environment, and eliminate risk factors. And we invite the employees themselves to contribute to positive changes.

According to occupational safety specialist Neringa Melnikavičienė, it is the employees who know best what changes are needed the most. "Employees offer many ideas on how to improve the working environment, and the best solutions turn into reality. While some of them may sometimes seem awkward, it's important to explain to employees why it's necessary. After all, it's all just for their own safety," she says.

To celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we organised events for bakery and office workers throughout this week, where we talked about the importance of health and safety at work culture. To encourage employees to move more, we gave everyone exercise elastic bands during the events, with which you can exercise during breaks, thus improving your physical health and well-being. We also invited everyone to feast on healthy smoothies and discussed the maintenance of employees' well-being.
