What does food technology look like in a working bakery? Students from the Department of Chemistry and Food Technology got to see it firsthand at our Vilnius bakery.

This week, we welcomed guests at Vilnius Bakery – food technology students from the Department of Chemistry and Food Technology at Vilnius College.

Some are just starting their studies, while others are already looking ahead – where they could do internships and what job opportunities await them after graduation.

The students were accompanied around the bakery by our Vilnius bakery manager Dalia Zdanovičienė and Continuous Improvement Specialist Alma Žilinskė. They showed us what daily bakery operations look like, the work of a food technologist, and the journey from dough preparation to the packaged pastry, which is sent to stores throughout Lithuania and abroad.

And of course, we couldn’t let them leave empty-handed 🍞 We gave them a taste of our new batch buns, which are now making their way to the Danish market.

And to those who found our bakery even more interesting after the tour, we say: we’d be happy to welcome you back for an internship. More than one great career at Vilniaus duona has started this way.
